LEES DE LAATSTE ONTWIKKELINGEN VAN DE MAKERSTOREN

Initiator Ian Gray speaks

“I always wondered why industrial areas should feel so uninspiring. In the early days, the makers were an intrinsic part of the vibrant city fabric. You would see people making things. Now, most creatives are forced to move into closed-off buildings outside the city centre. It’s my mission with MAKERSTOREN to make these people visible again, providing a transparent, high-quality work environment.

MAKERSTOREN is more than a building you go to work at. We strive to facilitate the dynamics of a thriving neighbourhood—a place you like to linger before, during and after work. We’re pioneering in the area by building a tower for workspaces. That’s quite unique. The fact is, we lack space on the ground. The solution is going up. A highrise doesn’t need to be reserved for office towers, right?

I love Sloterdijk for its guts. The area is quickly changing, replacing anonymous office buildings with ambitious residential area and public spaces developments. The bold attitude, amount of space, and unlimited potential already attracted progressive tastemakers who relocated their seat to the western part of town. The combination of location, accessibility and facilities is unique, but what appeals most to me is the prevailing energy—ambitious, upbeat, positive, and collaborative.”
